Our professional dog grooming course has been specially designed for students who are looking for a career in dog grooming, without the worry of a formal exam. Instead, you will have continual in-house assessments in order to remove the pressure of a final assessment and theory exam. Our training can be undertaken on a full-time basis or flexibly. Finally, you do not need any previous experience to apply for this course.

This course is particularly ideal for those who are keen to learn more about dog grooming. With this in mind, you will cover a variety of breeds and coat types, for the purpose of opening your own business.

What does the Career Grooming Course cover?

​

The first day will start with a health and safety induction, along with a tour of our facilities. During each day of the course, you will have the opportunity to groom various breeds of dogs working your way from prepping and health checking, to fully styling as you progress.

• The correct handling of dogs

• Recognition of health problems and basic first aid

• Brushing, de-matting and bathing

• In-depth clipping, scissoring and hand stripping

• Ear cleaning and nail clipping

• Cleaning and maintaining equipment

• Health and Safety in the Salon

• Customer relation

This is a 20-day course, with 19 practical days, half a day of induction, and half a day of business tips/ Q&A.  The business course is designed to offer support and guidance for opening your own parlour. This will include recommendations, legislation guidance and the opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

After successful completion, a ‘Dog Grooming Academy Certificate of Achievement' will be consequentially awarded
